Catch Up

There are presently no open calls for submissions.

NEW: Until further notice Catch Up will no longer accept unsolicited fiction submissions unless they are submitted to the Emerging Writers category below.

Also, we do not turn poems or stories into comics.

Catch Up reads general submissions year round, but we encourage you to submit between March and October. We publish poetry, flash fiction, short fiction, comics, and interviews, as well as some static graphic images, and some essays.

All text submissions should be sent as ONE Word or PDF document, and all comics and images should be sent as JPEG 300 dpi . Our response time is 1 to 4 months. Please feel free to write to inquire about your submission after 4 months have passed (gcatchupm@gmail.com).

Please submit no more than six poems, 5 comics (100 cells or less) of comics at a time. We far prefer actual comics to static graphics, though we do publish some of those, as well. Translations are totally welcome and should be accompanied by a copy of the original text, whenever possible.

All submissions should be in English and previously unpublished in the United States and Canada. Simultaneous submissions are also absolutely fine as long as we are notified immediately if the manuscript is accepted for publication elsewhere. Cover letters are not necessary, but be sure to include phone and (if possible) e-mail contact information. We cannot offer payment for published work.
